DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO COSTA RICA

DAY 2: ALAJUELA – ARENAL

DAY 3: BIRDWATCHING MORNING TOUR
Dawn at Arenal is a magical time. The air is fresh, the trails are quiet, but the forest that permeates the property is buzzing with life. In the morning birding tour, you will join one of our experienced guides in the quest to fulfill your bird bucket list. The diversity of habitats within the forest allows expect a great diversity of bird species, over 500 hundred in fact. Toucans, trogons, and tanagers or maybe the ever-elusive umbrella bird with its postmodern hairdo and loud, booming calls; there is no telling what to expect. Accommodation.
DAY 4: BIRDWATCHING AT CAÑO NEGRO WILDLIFE REFUGE
Caño Negro National Wildlife Refuge was created to protect wetlands of great importance for wildlife, both terrestrial and aquatic and as a reservoir in perpetuity of unique species of the area. It is considered to be of the best sites on the continent for bird watching. In addition to an abundance of birds, Caño Negro is also home to many exciting animals, such as sloth, three types of monkeys, caimans, lizards, bats, and a variety of flora native of the wetlands. The tour to this beautiful region leaves from La Fortuna and travels approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to Los Chiles, a rustic village just three kilometers from the Nicaraguan border. Then we begin our boat ride to the wetlands. On the way up, you will see many bird and animal species. This refuge is a source of food for the migratory birds of the north. You can see species such as kingfischer, snowy cotinga, black-collared hawk, jabiru, anhinga, snail kite, bare-throated tiger-heron, among others. There are species of plants and animals that are not found in other parts of the country and is one of the few parts where the tropical gar is found. Accommodation.
DAY 5: ARENAL – MONTEVERDE

DAY 6: DAY FOR BIRDWATCHING
Possibility of seeing the birds before sunrise on your own. Breakfast at the hotel. Monteverde is a sanctuary for more than 500 species of birds, a paradise where the popular bell bird and the majestic quetzal stand out. Delight in the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve or the Monteverde Biological Reserve, two favorite places for bird watching. DAY 7: MONTEVERDE – GUANACASTE

DAY 8: PALO VERDE NATIONAL PARK TOUR & BIRDWATCHING
Palo Verde National park is an exceptional place for birdwatchers and nature lovers in general, a two hours boat trip will introduce us into this important ecosystem. The hydrologic characteristics of the Tempisque River has created conditions to form these international important wetlands ecosystem (Ramsar site).
