DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO SAN JOSE
Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel in San Jose. Accommodation.
DAY 2: SAN JOSE - SAN GERARDO DE RIVAS
Departure in the morning to San Isidro del General, connection to San Gerardo de Rivas. Accommodation.
DAY 3: SAN GERARDO DE RIVAS - CHIRRIPO NATIONAL PARK RANGER STATION
Early departure after breakfast to Crestones which is the operations base of the park and lodging place. The route takes 8 hours and we will reach an altitude of 3372 meters above sea level. The rest point will be in the place known as Llano Bonito where we will take a picnic and then continue for another 4 hours to the Base. Accommodation.
DAY 4: CLIMB TO THE CHIRRIPO PEAK
Breakfast. Start the climbing to the top of the highest peak of Costa Rica, Chirripo Mountain or Place of eternal waters (by its indigenous name). It is located at 3820 meters above sea level. If the weather permits we can observe amazing views of the Pacific and the Atlantic at the same time. After a picnic lunch at the top of Chirripo we will begin our descent; We will visit Cerro Terbi at 3760 meters above sea level. We finish with the visit to Crestones Hill, one of the most majestic rock formations in the park. Accommodation.
DAY 5: CHIRRIPO NATIONAL PARK - SAN GERARDO DE RIVAS - UVITA
Breakfast and departure to San Gerardo de Rivas by the same route of ascent in walk. Duration 8 hours approximate since generally the descent is in less time. DAY 6: CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK TOUR
